Happy Birthday toThe Plain Jane! (Soi Cowboy Tale)

21 September just passed and I also just turned...erm...another year older. I offered food to a monk of my way to work and made a birthday wish. Tons of people sent me bithday wishes which I really appreciated. It's good to know that your friends still think of you, you know. Now, since I have a big plan to do something different, I decided to go to Soi Cowboy (The famous Red-light District of Bangkok) to celebrate my birthday.

At first I wasn't taking seriously because I was hoping that someone might be available to go out and have dinner or drinks with me. Unfortunately, the Best Guyfriend was busy. I received a happy birthday message from The Guy I Don't Want To Mention, so out of my desperation, I asked if he wanted to meet up. Well, he said he was busy, which I was kinda glad to be honest. If we were to meet up, I was pretty sure that he would want to **** me afterwards. I was actually quite done with being his booty call, so it was better that we didn't.

Anyway, I was considering wandering around in Soi Cowboy alone for the heck of it, when an MSN conversation window poped up on my computer screen with a really cute happy birthday message. It was from Design Teacher. I only know him for like 4 months, but he is a pretty cool guy and has a very pleasant personality. He asked if I had any special plan to celebrate my birthday. I said no and made a note in my mind that I might be lucky. So, I chatted with him a bit longer before asking if he was free to go out with me since I still didn't have a plan. He said he had no problem with it and asked what I wanted to do. After giving myself a little bit of time to think it through, I told him that it would be great to have him accompany me to Soi Cowboy. I had been wanting to do something out of ordinary. This would be a good chance. He was surprised, but agreed to come along since it was my birthday afterall.

We met up at the Exit 2 of Sukhumvit MRT station at around 7.30 pm. I was in my office clothes because I came straight from work. Design Teacher said he had been there only twice but would try his best to be keep me company. OK, here's my confession: I've never been to Soi Cowboy before. I didn't even know that this kind of place ever exist until a several weeks ago. As I walked with Design Teacher into the soi, I felt as if I was entering another world. I saw many foreigners and girls with only a few inches of clothes walking around. There were also tons of neon-light signs of the go-go bars. "OMG! What the heck am I doing here!?" I screamed inside my head. I felt really awkward seeing those almost-naked girls walking up and down the street, but I was determined to enjoy the scenery to the best of my ability, so I just kept walking and observing.

The first bar we went to was "Baccara". Geez, I just love the attention I got when I first walked in. I sensed that many pairs of eyes captured me with curiosity for a moment. I was pretty sure that they were wondering what the heck I was here for. I would imagine that a young girl in a proper outfit was considered to be quite a misfit in this red-light district. Anyway, we sat down, ordered drinks and looked at girls dancing. The bar has two floors. The ground floor has a well-lit dancing stage. The girls dancing there wear a bikini top combined with a very very short skirt. On the second floor, I saw girls wearing 'schoolgirl' outfit, dancing on a transparent floor without panties!!! Design Teacher probably noticed the weird expression on my face, so he asked me what I thought of the experience so far. I could only smile awkwardly and replied him that it was very interesting. We sat, drank and talked for a little while, then I noticed that some of the girls on the second floor began to dance topless as well as pantyless!!! OMG!...But it was kinda funny that I became desensitized to nudity pretty quick. It was getting boring after half an hour, so we decided to explore other bars.

The second bar called "Tilac". Design Teacher said it was pretty well-known. It was full of girls wearing bikini and short-short skirt again. The only difference was that girls used your table as their stage. We picked a table to sit and ordered drinks. I looked up at one of the two girls dancing on our table and gave her a friendly smile. She looked back rather oddly and immediately tried to pull her tiny skirt to cover her 'private part'. OK...I was pretty sure that she had been in this profession for quite a while. I didn't see why she even cared who looked at her in this kind of place. I got bored after a short period of time. I was expecting something more exotic, not just girls dancing unenthusiacticly in bikinis. Yep, it was time to move again.

The third bar, the last one of the night, was 'Lucky Star' (aka. 'Long Gun'). I must say that this place was the jackpot of my night. The girls there were great. They danced more enthusiacticly to entertain customers. Also, they put on several interesting shows on stage. It was the first time that I saw strip dance live on stage, not in Hollywood movies! I drank a couple more glasses of Whisky and got a bit tipsy. Design Teacher asked me again what I thought of the experience. This time, I told him that it was fun and that I began to enjoy being bad a little. He smiled and said something that I felt it to be a bit personal. Was he trying to flirt with me? Hmm...maybe I just think too much. Design Teacher is kinda cute though. Nah...I'd rather befriend with him. I don't want to lose a friend just because of my reckless action. Anyway, it was almost 11 pm when I suggested that we left since both of us had work to do the next morning. He sent me to a cab, and we wished each other goodnight.

The last event of the night would be that my sister gave me my birthday present when I got home. Very nice of her. It's good to have a family.

Hehe...being bad is getting more and more entertaining.
